TATA Avinya currently on display represents an advanced iteration of the model introduced by the manufacturer in 2022, featuring a completely revamped design both inside and out.
Tata Motors has unveiled an updated version of its first generation-3 EV concept, TATA Avinya, at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025. Initially introduced in 2022, this latest iteration features a refreshed body style and a redesigned interior. While the Avinya concept itself won’t be produced, it serves as a glimpse into the automaker’s vision for the next wave of electric vehicles. This concept is built on a modified version of JLR’s EMA platform, which also supports the recently revealed Jaguar Type 00 concept.
Now, let’s delve deeper into the newly showcased Avinya concept.
TATA Avinya: Exterior
The Tata Avinya concept has undergone a significant redesign since its 2022 debut. While it still features the distinctive T-shaped LED daytime running lights, a smooth grille, and streamlined LED headlights, the latest iteration boasts a more robust body structure with bold lines and dynamic contours. Additionally, the camera-equipped side mirrors and the ‘Avinya’ emblem on the front doors remain part of the design. The tail lights have also been updated to mirror the T-shaped style of the LED DRLs.
TATA Avinya: Interior
The interior of the new Avinya concept presents a striking dual-tone cabin and seating arrangement. The design embraces a minimalist and tidy aesthetic, highlighted by a generous application of touch-sensitive buttons and control panels. The driver’s display is ingeniously integrated into the steering wheel, reminiscent of the previous concept. In a departure from many contemporary electric vehicles, the Avinya opts for fewer screens, instead prioritizing voice-activated commands for managing the EV’s features.
TATA Avinya: features & Safety
The production models derived from the Avinya concept are anticipated to be loaded with an array of features, similar to other vehicles from the manufacturer. Expect to see a dual 12.3-inch display setup—one dedicated to instrumentation and the other for infotainment—along with a panoramic sunroof, a wireless phone charger, and multi-zone automatic climate control. Additionally, features tailored for electric vehicles, such as vehicle-to-load (V2L) and vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) capabilities, are likely to be included.
Tata Sierra EV: Launch Date and Price in India
On the safety front, a comprehensive suite is expected, featuring at least six airbags as standard, a 360-degree camera, and advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) like adaptive cruise control and lane-keeping assist. Tata Motors has asserted that they have developed a platform designed to achieve a 5-star Euro NCAP crash safety rating.
TATA Avinya: Powertrain Options
The EMA platform is set to serve as the foundation for Tata Motors’ third-generation electric vehicles inspired by the Avinya concept. This innovative platform is anticipated to feature a substantial battery pack option, boasting a range of at least 500 km. Its scalable design allows for various battery configurations, catering to different needs. Additionally, the production-ready generation 3 EVs will incorporate advanced fast charging technology.
